Townsville City Council: Leading a Smarter Approach to Community Safety

Townsville City Council engaged Matryx Consulting to strengthen its approach to community safety and crime prevention across a large and complex operating environment.

Responsible for over $5.4 billion in assets and more than 300 sites, the council sought a consistent, organisation-wide security framework.

Over a 12-month engagement, Matryx reviewed security risks affecting staff, community members, infrastructure and events. This included access control, CCTV, incident response, training and partnerships with external agencies.

The result was a comprehensive security program underpinned by CPTED principles and data-driven insights, improving resilience, operational efficiency and fostering a security-aware culture across the organisation.

Brimbank City Council: Leading the Way in Staff Safety

As a major provider of essential community services, Brimbank City Council took a proactive approach to strengthening safety for its workforce.

Recognising the importance of staying ahead of emerging risks, Council engaged Matryx to gain a clear, organisation-wide view of occupational violence and aggression (OVA) and security risk.

Matryx delivered a comprehensive security risk assessment across 28 prioritised sites, combining physical security reviews, CPTED principles and an understanding of how services are delivered in practice.

This work informed the development of an enterprise security framework, giving Council a practical, future-focused pathway to enhance physical and psychological safety, support compliance with psychosocial health requirements and maintain safe service delivery across its network.

Campbelltown City Council: Future-Focused CCTV Strategy

With a growing and diverse asset portfolio, Campbelltown City Council took a proactive step to ensure its CCTV systems continue to support safe, well-managed public and workplace environments.

The Council engaged Matryx to assess its existing surveillance capability and set a clear direction for future planning.

Matryx completed a comprehensive audit of CCTV systems and supporting procedures across 32 sites, reviewing technical performance, operational practices and compliance.
